"Good for Deodorant texture" COMMENTS:  When I make deodorant, I use Kokum butter, for its properties and slightly higher melting point. The problem is that it can crumble, and not consistent texture. However, mixing with castor oil makes it feel creamy, like shea. I can't tell much of a difference in the amount of lather/bubbles from the bars I make without the castor oil, but it certainly did no harm. "Must have for a fluffy lather!" COMMENTS:  This really gives my soaps the edge and helps pick up the lather that I may not get from adding a bunch of coconut oil (which can dry out my skin). Not much is needed (roughly 5%-10%) in my cold process soaps does the trick. I find this works well in my bastile soap recipes to aid the lather and decrease the curing time it takes for a normal castille soap bar to get bigger bubbles and a nicer lather. Plus it's a cheap, so it can't hurt to add it to a recipe since a little goes a long way. It also adds a nice "slip" to some of my other recipes that helps my lipbalms/body bars/deodorant glide across my skin. "Nice thick oil" COMMENTS:  This castor oil went into my hot process soap. It makes the soap really nice and moisturizing. It smells a little funny, but I'm pretty sure that's the nature of the product, and the smell doesn't affect the scent of the soap. It came in a nice bottle that can be reused. "Staple for shampoo" COMMENTS:  This is an excellent oil for a shampoo bar- it makes such a nice, dense and creamy lather and doesn't leave my bars "sticky" like a lot of people say about castor oil. It's thick and economical. I hot process my shampoo bars, and I find that the lather is better that way.
