Monoi Butter Blend

International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI):
Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Fragrance, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Gardenia Taitensis Flower Extract

Directions:

DIRECTIONS: Slowly stir melted product into the oil portion of your formulation.  Common use levels are lip products 5-100%, cold process soap 3-6%, lotions and creams 3-5%.  Can be applied directly to the skin.

TIPS: The average melting point for the butter is 104-122°F. Butters provide moisturizing properties to products. To minimize greasy after feel we recommend blending with 1-3% cornstarch or isopropyl myristate.  Test your final product to insure optimal performance. 

STORAGE: Store in an airtight, cool, dark location.  When stored properly, best used within 1 year from date of purchase.

"I Love this butter!" COMMENTS:  I had to try it and I am glad I did.I used it in cold process soap thinking most of the fragrance would evaporate but none of it did! It stayed as strong as it was when I added it.No other fragrance oils are needed with this one,and it is so creamy. I will buy more when it goes on sale again. "OMG amazing" COMMENTS:  This product is awesome. I ended up purchasing the smallest amount during a sale and when I got it in the mail I was instantly disappointed I did not buy more. It smells like a tropical garden! I was wanting a butter to add to my sugar scrubs that smelled nice and this is it! Will be using in my no fragrance scrubs for those with sensitive skin. 5+ stars! "Like Spring Time" COMMENTS:  This is my first time ever trying this butter out and I must say that I am upset I didn't go for the gusto and just order at least a 1lb jar because the sample jar was a complete tease. Even though this butter has a very distinct scent of its own, it's very open to blending WELL with other scents. I made Lemongrass, Coconut Lime and Coconut Tangerine scented bath bombs with and without this butter, and with this butter, all 3 scents were magnified and and the Monoi butter just intensified the scents. This oil is also suprisingly moisturizing and didn't leave as greasy of a feel on the skin. I am excited to order it again and try it out in my cold processed soap and body butter. "Relaxing Scent" COMMENTS:  I was scared that I wasn't going to like this when I read some of the other comments about the scent. But I find this scent to be beautiful and relaxing. I don't find it overpowering at all. I first used it in a cold process soap and had a hard time figuring out the sap value. Luckily this was a test recipe and not for sale because the formula was definitely off. I then used it in my Luxx Lotion and I am in love!!! I bump up the scent by adding a little extra monoi oil and this lotion is so dreamy! My customers really like this one and it will be on my menu for years to come. "Smells great" COMMENTS:  I love this product...and yes it's great right out of the jar. Of course, the first thing you notice is the wonderful scent which can easily take you to a tropical isle. It is so smooth and blends well. I just made my first batch of the beach butter balm (have some Caribbean cruise going customers) and I'm excited for them to use this. It turned out great for me. "Love It!!!" COMMENTS:  I purchased a sample size portion of this butter so I could try it out, and I have to be honest...this butter blend smells MARVELOUS!!! It's incredibly fragrant and very smooth. I added some to a batch that I was whipping up and had no need to add any fragrance. The entire batch was scented perfectly. It's very floral and perfect for summer. My only regret is that I didn't use it sooner. I will definitely be buying more of this when spring rolls back around. "Excellent Butter. Very Pleased." COMMENTS:  I used this product to make a hair butter. The butter held up pretty well against the heat and the fragrance is heavenly. Therefore I would not recommend this as a moisturizer for hair as it would be too heavy and greasy for that type of application. Since, Monoi Butter is already scented you could try taking a small amount of the butter and adding a tiny drop of the fragrance that you'd like to use into it. Most CP soaps are fragranced from .5 to 1% of FO's. It really comes down to preference, but never go above the recommended amounts. I don't know that this would come through very strongly fragrance-wise, without the addition of an additional fragrance oil or essential oil. The caustic process of CP soap can sometimes weaken a lot of scents. I did a little research and found that the SAP value is almost the same as Avocado Butter - which is listed on most soap calculators. Staff Answer This butter does have a light floral odor to it so it will smell floral if used in a lip product. The amount of fragrance contained in this butter is an amount that is safe in lip products if you were to use it at 100% in a lip product.
