Palm Kernel Flakes is an oil in a solid flake form. Commonly used up to 15% in cold and hot process soap making recipes because it boosts lather. Palm Kernel Flakes typically speed up trace in CP Soap. Use this oil in wax tarts and wickless candles, too!

Palm oil is a form of vegetable oil obtained from the fruit of the Oil palm tree. Each fruit contains a single seed (the palm kernel) surrounded by a soft oily pulp. Oil is extracted from both the pulp of the fruit (palm oil) and the kernel (palm kernel oil). Popular in cold and hot process soap making because it boosts lather. All Natural.

COMMENTS: First off let me tell you that you won't be disappointed with these flakes! I was a bit apprehensive about using the flakes - but let me reassure you that these are clean, no dust, easy to pour from bag, and easy to measure. I've made tons of CP soap with these, and you can really tell the difference! It helps make the batter creamy, smooth and lets me achieve a great dancing-funnel pattern! You can't go wrong with these - I will be ordering another bag this month - it will be staple in my supply cabinet!

COMMENTS: Product was shipped very quickly. However, when I received the product it was melted and clumped together in some areas. I'd appreciate if it was better insulated during shipping as I do live in a warmer climate and need to order year round but it did break up after I placed it in a plastic storage container. No issues with the quality of the product. Great quality.

COMMENTS: I've used this product in soaps where I need to use a lot of olive oil or other soft oils. These palm kernel flakes help to harden the bars. Very happy with it! I've found it helpful to melt the palm kernel flakes first, because they have a higher melting point than most other oils I use. You'll definitely want to incorporate your lye water at a temp above 102 degrees, but that's the temp I like most.

COMMENTS: I use palm kernel flakes in many of my room temp soap recipes.It is easy to pour out and use. It always melts quickly when I add the lye mixture and the soap turns out firm and good lather. The soap can stay a lighter color as flakes are white as opposed to the palm oil which is orangy.

COMMENTS: I love being able to incorporate palm kernel flakes in my cold process soaps. For my soap recipes I use equal parts coconut oil and the flakes and the result is a wonder hard bar of soap and the lather is unbelievable. It also helps to keep costs low by using palm kernel for part of the coconut oil, which is much more expensive.

These flakes are fantastic- They help to harden CP soap bars when you replace a small amount of the traditional palm oil in a recipe with them. They are part of almost all of my soap recipes now! COMMENTS: I use it occasionally for cold process soap. I like the flake form because it is easy to store and measure whenever I need some. This is the best price I can find online as I don't use large quantity so this is perfect to buy 5 lb at a time. It is very similar to using coconut oil in cold process soap but melting point is much higher. However, it is more costly than coconut oil, that's why I don't use it as often.

COMMENTS: I was really tired of melting and stirring palm oil to fully mix before using. Palm Kernal Flakes were just the answer. The only difference has been that Palm Kernal Flakes use so much less than Palm Oil that I've had to recalculate my recipes to add other oils in place of the difference. It is though so much nicer to not have to melt and mix PO before using. I'll definitely be using PK Flakes in the future.

"Great lather booster in CP Soap" |

COMMENTS: I use this in cold process soaps to get those big fluffy bubbles. It’s drying when used in too large a percentage, but it really only takes a little to get the right effect! Excellent alternative for formulating a coconut-free recipe for those with sensitivities. Also contributes hardness to the cured bars. The flakes are very convenient for measuring with less mess than liquid oils and melt easily.

"Excellent to build a nice hard bar of soap." |

COMMENTS: I love this product! Not only does it add to my soap to create a harder bar but also how it now comes packaged in the resealable 5 lb. bags. It makes it a lot easier to handle and you have fresh product with each bag. Well done!
