Pumice is a natural exfoliant which is made up of volcanic ash! The fine particle size of this pumice powder provides exfoliation properties and color variation in products. Enhance bars of soap or scrubs with this cosmetic pumice powder.

Pumice is a volcanic ash which is formed when lava is permeated with gas bubbles during the solidification process. Because lava has similar properties and chemical make-up as glass, pumice is very abrasive but unlike glass, it is very soft. Pumice is the softest abrasive media in use today. All Natural.

"Fantastic for scrubby soaps" |

COMMENTS: I used the entire 2 ounce package in a 2 pound batch of soap I called Mechanic's soap. It's a perfect amount for a good scrubby soap (similar to Lava). It did thicken the batter considerably, and I was able to cut it sooner than most soaps, but just keep an eye on it. Will buy again!

COMMENTS: I bought this to make a mechanic's soap and a mechanic's hand scrub. I found I had to use a lot more pumice than expected with the hand scrub, as I added it to aloe vera to make it a waterless hand cleanser for mechanics at the parts dump. This product is very nice and reasonably priced.

"Just the right amount of scrub, not too harsh" |

COMMENTS: This pumice powder gives just the right amount of exfoliation, more gritty than salt so that you really feel the scrub, but not so harsh it will make you feel like you're showering with sandpaper. I only use about 2T per 1 lb. of CP goat's milk soap, but I'm sure you could use more to amp the exfoliation factor.

COMMENTS: I whisk into my oils when they’re still hot and this blends beautifully. Do yourself a favor and make a high percentage shea soap and add 1 tbsp pumice PPO. Definitely a luxuriant exfoliating bar. Also, if you’re not already, try your soaps after a 6-8 week cure and notice how abundant and creamy your lather becomes. So worth the extra couple weeks!

COMMENTS: Awesome! I was worrying that this would accelerate trace in my cold process soap as in the past I have had bad luck with a different brand. However, this did not accelerate trace in my soaps. The particles were finer than I had expected but I am still very pleased with this product.
I also use this in my pine tar soap (which is accelerated anyways) and I love it instead of using silica sand.
It is easily airborne so there is a definite need for a face mask.

COMMENTS: I used this pumice powder in melt and pour goat milk soap bars. It suspended well and provided a nice smooth exfoliate on skin. I was able to do a fairly high percentage in the bars too, so it stayed in the lather and was nice as a shower bar. The soap bars I made were white, and the pumice did give them a bit of a gray color. Overall I would recommend this product.

COMMENTS: I used the pumice powder in 2 melt & pour products and I love the result. You do need to stir a while as it cools if you are not using a suspension soap base. I made a mechanics soap with pumice and loofah and several essential oils...tested by my sons auto shop and they like the result. No as effective for extremely greasy hands but, does the trick for cleaning up after most basic jobs. Also, used this in a foot scrub bar and it works as good as a pumice stick .....and cleans at the same time!

COMMENTS: When it comes to exfolliation, this pumice powder really works. However, when I made a foot scrub with peppermint, it turned the scrub brown. I don't know what happened. Still effective, still maintained fragrance, but turned brown and this only happened when I used the pumice.

COMMENTS: but I add play sand (yes, really!) and this pumice to the custom batches a customer wants.
A local mechanic's shop is using my pumice soap to wash up with. Gojo is back in the closet. They think my soap does everything but wash the car. Heals hangnails, weeds the garden, will colonize Mars.

I buy it for my "Get 'r Done Scrub" and it's amazing in it, providing the perfect amount of "grit" to get the job done right for those down-and-dirty job clean-ups. I scent it with Oakmoss and Amber Fragrance Oil and it's a BIG hit with both men and women. I've also found that when mixing, there's only a minimal powder-haze if you push it down into your mixture before mixing with your beaters. I only wish I'd thought of it on my very first batch of scrub BEFORE my kitchen looked like it had been through a dust storm . . .

COMMENTS: Maybe I'm wrong -- maybe all the suppliers get their pumice from the same place. However, this is absolutely the most beautiful, pure-looking, whitest pumice I've ever used. Finer than sand, it makes a great soap bar. Even greasy & gritty hands come clean. I use it in facial soap for myself because I'm a crazy exfoliator, but I've never experienced irritation. CC's Super Fine pumice is nice, too.

COMMENTS: Had to have this for mechanics scrub. I love how this recipe turned out and already have requests for more of this scrub. I want to try it in a soap or foot scrub so I see more uses for this product. It does have a coarse enough grain making it great to scrub with. This powder is a gray color and will bring that shade/tint to products. Highly recommend.

COMMENTS: I bought this pumice powder for the express purpose of making a foot scrub. It worked for that purpose. Fine and gentle, but scrubby enough for the skin on feet. I used a little bit on my face and it's definitely too rough for the facial area. Lesson learned!
The only thing that I didn't care for is that it turned my scrub gray since the powder is off white. It just doesn't look pretty and looks more like a mechanic's scrub. That's fine, if you're going for that look. In the future, I'd put it in a dark colored jar to hide the not so pretty color.

COMMENTS: I used this in my very first batch of cp soap in the round molds. I honestly feel like I will put it in all my body soaps and even scrubs as it gently exfoliates. My elbows haven't been this smooth in a long time. My soaps are creamy and this adds enough grit to easily "wash on wash off". It doesn't leave the oils behind and I really think it will be great to make soap for my hubby who fixes cars and uses chemicals to get the black stuff off his hands. I will be using more pumice powder in my foot scrubs than in my soap because it works wonders for my skin.

COMMENTS: When I need a really good exfoliant, this is it. I use it in my scrubs. Super easy to use, I just pour it in and mix it. Works in the mechanics without any color but the light grey color is easy to work with. I previously have only used the luffas and this is so easy.

COMMENTS: This is great stuff. I used it in a gardener's soap and it is a hit with friends and family. It's pretty coarse and scrubby, so may be too harsh for everyday hand or body soaps, but for serious scrubbing it's great! Looking forward to trying the extra-fine pumice I just ordered.

COMMENTS: This powder is wonderful! Its a great exfoliate I use it in making cold process soap for my dad. He works on a lot of cars, and outside in general and gets his hands so greasy and grimy and this powder gets off all of the gunk, so he comes in the house with nice clean hands.

COMMENTS: I was pleasantly surprised at how Very Mild this powder really was. I think because of the word 'Pumice', I was expecting something more abrasive. However, this is so mild that I actually tried it on my face. Extremely Mild exfoliation and worked as well as my MicroDerm abrasion cream! I'll experiment more with this product. So far, so good. Would Buy again!
