Homemade Dishwasher Tablets Recipe

About This Recipe:
You will love these natural dishwasher tablets. They will leave your dishes "squeaky" clean. You may want to use a rinse aide, though, to help prevent water spots on your glasses. 


Shopping List:
(1) White Vinegar (not included in kit)
(1) 1 lb Sodium Carbonate - aka Washing Soda
(1) 1 lb Sodium Borate - aka Borax
(1) 2 oz European Spa Salt - Medium Grain
(1) 2 fl. oz Lemon EO - Certified 100% Pure 140
(3) 1 Mold Citrus Small Round Soap Mold (MW 154)
(1) 1 Each Hairnets - 24 inch Disposable
(1) 1 Piece Droppers (Pipettes) - Plastic
(1) 100 Piece Clear Poly Bags - 10" x 4"
(1) 0.06 Pack (1/2 oz) Natural Raffia


Recipe Ingredients:
Measure ingredients with a scale or precise measuring tool.

• 4 oz. White Vinegar (not included in kit)
• 7.15 oz. Sodium Carbonate - aka Washing Soda
• 6.75 oz. Sodium Borate - aka Borax
• 2 oz. European Spa Salt - Medium Grain
• 1.5 ml(s) Lemon EO - Certified 100% Pure 140


Equipment From Home:
• (1) Large Mixing Bowl
• (1) Wire Whisk
• (1) Scale - Digital Display
• (1) Mixing Spoon
• (3) Cookie Sheets

Directions:
NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.
  1. To a large mixing bowl, add the Sodium Carbonate, Sodium Borate and European Spa Salts. Mix with a wire whisk.
  2. To dry ingredients, add vinegar and Lemon Essential Oil. Mix ingredients together well until all are incorporated.
  3. Take a small amount of mixture in your hand and squeeze to see if it holds together. If it does not, add a small amount of vinegar until it clumps together.
  4. Lay out the 3 plastic molds on cookie sheets. Fill each cavity, packing tightly so the mixture stays together when unmolded.   
  5. Let set to dry for around 24 hours.
  6. Remove from molds and package.
  7. We filled 4 bags with 5 tablets each and tied the top with raffia.
  8. Label product accordingly.
To Use: Place one tablet into the detergent chamber of your dishwasher. If it is too large, crumble up the tablet and add to the chamber.
