Hemp Body Moisturizer Recipe

About This Recipe:

You will find you will use this lotion year-round. Canadian hemp seed oil is considered one of the "driest" natural oils. This moisturizer will protect your skin in any environment - the dry and chapped skin of winter or to soothe sun-tanned skin in the summer!

(1) 2 oz Silk Amino Acids Liquid

(2) 2 oz Hemp Seed Butter Blend

(2) 2 oz Hemp Seed Oil - Virgin (Dark Green)

(1) 2 oz Stearic Acid

(2) 2 oz Emulsifying Wax - Soft & Silky

(1) 2 oz Vitamin E Natural T-50

(1) 2 oz Preservative - Sorbic Acid +2 PF (Compare to Optiphen Plus)

(7) 1 Jars 08 oz Green Basic Plastic Jar - 70/400

(7) 1 Piece 70/400 Black Ribbed Top Cap - F217 Liner

Recipe Ingredients:

• 50 oz. Distilled Water (not included in kit)
• 2 oz. Silk Amino Acids Liquid
• 3.2 oz. Hemp Seed Butter Blend
• 3.2 oz. Hemp Seed Oil - Virgin (Dark Green)
• 1.28 oz. Stearic Acid
• 3.2 oz. Emulsifying Wax - Soft & Silky
• 0.64 oz. Vitamin E Natural T-50
• 0.64 oz. Preservative - Sorbic Acid +2 PF (Compare to Optiphen Plus)

Equipment From Home:

• (2) Microwave-Safe Measuring Cup (64 oz.)
• (1) Microwave
• (1) Spatula
• (1) Stick Blender
• (1) Mixing Spoon
• (1) Scale - Digital Display
• (1) Thermometer
• (1) Distilled Water

Directions:

NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.

1. To microwave-safe measuring cup, add Hemp Seed Oil, Emulsifying Wax and Stearic Acid.
2. Heat in microwave until stearic acid and wax are completely melted. 
3. Add Hemp Butter Blend and gently stir to allow butter to soften.
4. To second microwave-safe measuring cup, add 50 oz. of water. Heat bowl in microwave for 2 minutes.
5. Slowly pour warm oil/butter mixture into the warm water. Product will immediately turn a whitish color.
6. Using a stick blender, begin to blend. Continue blending until mixture starts to thicken.
7. Add Silk Amino Acids and Vitamin E. Continue blending.
8. Check temperature to be sure lotion is under 176°F. Add preservative and blend until all ingredients are well incorporated.
9. Fill each jar to 9 oz. by weight. Any remaining product can be divided equally between all seven jars. Let product cool completely before applying lids. 
10. Because the hemp butter blend and oil have a naturally strong odor, no fragrance was added. If you want to add a fragrance that will complement the hemp, it can be added at 1-2% or 19-28 ml.
11. Label product accordingly. 

To Use: Apply to skin as often as desired.
