Harvest Ale Air Freshener Tarts Recipe

About This Recipe:

These Harvest Ale air fresheners will fragrance your car, home, drawers, etc. Use anywhere there is a need to freshen up the air.

Shopping List:

(3) 2 oz Palm Kernel Flakes - 102º Melt

(1) 2 fl. oz Harvest Ale Fragrance Oil 486

(3) 2 oz Beeswax - Ultra Refined & Bleached

(1) 1 Mold Celtic Small Round Soap Mold (MW 153)

(1) 1 Each Hairnets - 24 inch Disposable

(8) 1 Piece Muslin Drawstring Bags - Traditional 4 x 6

Recipe Ingredients:

• 6 oz. Palm Kernel Flakes - 102º Melt
• .96 oz. Harvest Ale Fragrance Oil 486
• 6 oz. Beeswax - Ultra Refined & Bleached

Equipment From Home:

• (1) Metal Melting Pot
• (1) Stove Top or Hot Plate
• (1) Scale - Digital Display
• (1) Freezer
• (1) Metal Mixing Spoon

Directions:

NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.

1. In a metal pan, place 2 oz. each of White Beeswax and Palm Kernel Flakes.
2. Over low heat on stove, heat until completely melted.
3. Remove from heat and stir to make sure everything is completely melted.
4. Add 10 ml or 2 teaspoons of fragrance and mix well. This is at 8%. To make stronger scented tarts, you can add 10% or 12 ml of fragrance oil.
5. Check that the wax temperature is at or below 150° F. If the wax is too hot, it may warp the plastic mold. 
6. Pour into each cavity of plastic mold. Once wax begins to set up, place in freezer for about 10 minutes.
7. Remove from freezer, turn mold over and remove tarts.
8. Repeat above steps 2-6 to make remaining tarts. 
9. Package 4 Harvest Ale tarts into eight drawstring muslin bags.
10. Label product accordingly.

To Use: Place air fresheners in car, drawer, bathroom, closet ,etc. If preferred, place 1-2 tarts in a wax melter. 

Caution: Should not be left in hot cars over 80° F. Scents should last for about 30 days.
