About This Recipe:
This patriotic lip balm is perfect for Memorial Day, the Fourth of July and Labor Day. It uses a lip balm base and is flavored with apple flavor oil.

(1) 2 fl. oz Apple - Sweetened Flavor Oil 778

(1) 2.5 gm Bag NuTone Navy Mica Powder

(1) 2.5 gm Bag Titanium Dioxide Pigment Powder - For Oil

(1) 2.5 gm Bag Fruit Punch Red Mica Powder

(1) 1 Each Hairnets - 24 inch Disposable

(3) 1 Piece Beaker - Natural Polypropylene

(16) 1 Set 01 oz Clear Push Up Stick & Top Set


Recipe Ingredients:
Measure ingredients with a scale or precise measuring tool.

• 16 oz. Lip Balm Base for Sticks
• 0.45 oz. Apple - Sweetened Flavor Oil 778
• 1/4 Teaspoon(s) NuTone Navy Mica Powder
• 1/4 Teaspoon(s) Titanium Dioxide Pigment Powder - For Oil
• 1/4 Teaspoon(s) Fruit Punch Red Mica Powder


Equipment From Home:
• (1) Scale
• (1) Microwave
• (1) Microwave-Safe Measuring Cup (16 oz.)
• (1) Spatula
• (1) Measuring Spoons

Directions:
NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.
  1. To glass measuring cup, add 5.30 oz. lip balm base.
  2. Heat in microwave until melted.
  3. Add blue mica and 0.15 oz. flavor oil. Mix well.
  4. Pour 0.30 oz. into each push up stick and divide any remaining. Allow lip balm to solidify.
  5. Repeat with white color and then red color.
  6. When cool, twist tops onto sticks and label.
To Use: Smooth onto lips as often as desired.
