Smoothie Sugar Scrub Shots

About This Recipe:

These smoothie inspired sugar scrubs are perfect for summer!  Use a single fragrance or mix and match. The granulated sugar will gently exfoliate to leave your skin summer smooth!

Recipe Ingredients:

• 10 oz. Foaming Bath Whip - Traditional
• 4 oz. Premium Ultra White MP Soap Base - 2 lb Tray
• 30 oz. Sugar - White Granulated Sugar
• 2 oz. Apricot Kernel Oil
• 0.20 oz. Preservative - Benzoic Acid +2 PF
• 0.30 oz. Pineapple Mango* Fragrance Oil 515
• 1/4 Teaspoon(s) Mai Tai Orange Mica Powder
• 0.30 oz. Green Tea & Cucumber* - EO & FO Blend 466
• 1/8 Teaspoon(s) Summer Yellow Daisy Mica Powder
• 1/8 Teaspoon(s) NuTone Navy Mica Powder
• 0.30 oz. Farmer's Market Sweet Strawberry FO 678
• 1/4 Teaspoon(s) Fairytale Pink Mica Powder

Equipment From Home:

• (1) Large Mixing Bowl (64 oz.)
• (1) Microwave-Safe Measuring Cup (8 oz.)
• (1) Microwave
• (1) Hand Mixer
• (1) Soap Cutter & Cutting Mat
• (3) Spoons or Spatula
• (1) Scale - Digital Display
• (2) 1/4 tsp. Measuring Spoon
• (2) 1/8 tsp. Measuring Spoon
• (3) Small Cups
• (3) Mixing Bowls (32 oz.)

Directions:

NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.

1. To a large mxing bowl, add Foaming Bath Whip. Using a hand mixer, whip for two minutes.
2. Cut up soap base into small chunks and add to a microwave-safe measuring cup. Heat in microwave in 30-second bursts until melted.
3. Slowly add melted soap to bath whip while continuing to whip with mixer. Mix for one minute or until well incorporated.
4. Add in Apricot Kernel Oil and preservative.
5. Mix in sugar a little at a time until completely blended in.    
6. Divide the mixture into three bowls, approximately 15 oz. each.
7. Using a small cup, measure the Pineapple Mango FO. Add in the orange mica powder and mix well.
8. Add fragrance/color mixture to first bowl of scrub and blend in with a spoon or spatula. Whip for 30 seconds or until all color is blended. 
9. Using another small cup, measure Green Tea & Cucumber FO*. Add in the yellow mica powder and blue mica powder. Mix well.
10. Add this to second bowl of scrub, folding in by hand with a spatula or spoon, then whip product until all color is blended.
11. For last color, measure Farmer's Market Sweet Strawberry FO and mix in pink mica powder. 
12. Add this to last bowl of scrub, folding in by hand. Whip until all color is blended well.
13. Fill deli cups with approximately 1.30-1.35 oz. by weight. Each color should yield 10 cups. If any scrub is left over, divide this among the cups. 
14. When all 30 cups have been filled, apply lids.
15. Package one of each color into a cello bag and tie closed.
16. Label product accordingly.

To Use: Scoop out desired amount of scrub and massage into skin. Rinse with warm water.
