Sugar Cube Bath Melts Recipe

About This Recipe:
Soak in a bath and enjoy the benefits of the natural cocoa butter as it surrounds you to soften and moisturize your skin. You can also use in the shower as a gently exfoliant. The butters will melt from the warm water and moisturize the skin.

(1) 1 lb Cocoa Butter - Deodorized & Ultra White
(3) 1 lb Sugar - White Granulated Sugar
(1) 2 fl. oz Bite Me Fragrance Oil 652
(1) 1 Mold Brownie Bite (24 Mini Squares) Silicone Mold
(1) 1 Each Hairnets - 24 inch Disposable
(6) 1 Piece Clear Cello Bag (3.5" x 2" x 7.5")
(1) 0.06 Pack (1/2 oz) Natural Raffia


Recipe Ingredients:
Measure ingredients with a scale or precise measuring tool.

• 7 oz. Cocoa Butter - Deodorized & Ultra White
• 4½ Cup(s) Sugar - White Granulated Sugar
• 8 ml(s) Bite Me Fragrance Oil 652


Equipment From Home:
• (1) Large Mixing Bowl
• (1) Wire Whisk
• (1) Measuring Cups
• (1) Mixing Spoon
• (1) Double Boiler or Stove Top
• (1) Cookie Sheet
• (1) Metal Pot
• (1) Scale - Digital Display
• (1) Thermometer - Digital

Directions:
NOTE:  If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.
  1. To double boiler or metal pot add cocoa butter and heat until melted.   
  2. While the butter is melting, add sugar to a large mixing bowl.
  3. Remove melted butter from heat source and let cool.
  4. Add 8 ml. of fragrance oil and blend in.
  5. When cocoa butter has cooled down to 120°F, combine the butter and the sugar.
  6. Mix with a spatula or spoon until ingredients are blended completely.
  7. Place the Brownie Bite silicone mold on a cookie sheet to give it stability when it is moved. 
  8. Fill each cavity with the butter/sugar mixture making sure they are packed tightly. Smooth off the top of each bath melt.   
  9. Place cookie sheet in the freezer for about 20 minutes. 
  10. Remove from mold. Place 4 sugar cubes into a cello bag and tie with raffia.
  11. Label product accordingly.
To Use: Drop one bath melt into tub under running water or use in the shower as a gentle exfoliant.
WARNING: Be sure to add a warning to your label that this will make your tub slippery. Be sure to use a rubber bath mat on bottom of the tub.
