Directions:
NOTE: This project and these instructions have been written for someone who has experience making soap and knows the potential dangers due to working with sodium hydroxide. It will not outline all safety methods of working with dangerous chemicals, it is simply a soap recipe for advanced soapmakers.
  1. Prepare the lye solution by weighing the water and lye in two separate containers. Pour the lye into the water, carefully mix in a well-ventilated area and set aside to cool while you prepare your oils.
  2. Melt the Coconut 76° Oil and Palm Oil in double boiler or microwave until melted.
  3. Add the Olive Oil and stir. Set oils aside.
  4. While lye water is cooling, prepare your color.
  5. In an 8 oz. mixing cup place 1/8 tsp. of the Activated Charcoal with a few drops of your melted mixed oils and stir (helps break down clumps of color when adding to the soap batter).  If you use more than the suggested amount of activated charcoal, it will make your soap black instead of grey. Set aside.
  6. In a mixing bowl add Goats Milk Powder and the Titanium Dioxide for Oil to the liquid oils and mix with stick blender until they are mixed in.
  7. When lye mixture has cooled, pour lye into liquid oils and hand stir for a minute. With the stick blender, blend with small bursts and stir until it is emulsified to a light trace.
  8. Pour 4 oz. of soap batter into the bowl with the charcoal, stir until completely blended.
  9. Take the silicone mold and place on a flat surface.
  10. Gently pour about 8 oz. of the white soap into the loaf mold.
  11. Drizzle some of the grey soap back and forth over the white soap, making thin lines.
  12. Gently pour another 8 oz. of white soap over that layer.
  13. Drizzle more grey soap, pouring only in thin lines.
  14. Pour remaining white soap batter over the grey lines and top with the remaining grey soap.
  15. Taking a bamboo skewer, make a circular motion up and down the loaf. Swirl the soap from one end of the loaf to the other (do not over-swirl or you will end up with a muted color in your soap).
  16. Tap the mold gently on counter.
  17. Let sit for 24-48 hours in mold.
  18. Take soap out of mold and slice into bars. You can put loaf in freezer for 45 minutes to help pop out of the mold if the soap is sticking to the mold.
  19. Let cure for 4-6 weeks.
  20. Wrap and label bars accordingly.
To Use: Lather onto wet hands and rinse with warm water.  Avoid contact with eyes.

Ingredient Label: Palm Oil, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Water, Sodium Hydroxide, Goats Milk, Titanium Dioxide, Activated Charcoal.
