Shampoo Bars with SCS Noodles

These shampo bars follow the trend of keeping the SCS noodles whole and mixing into the shampoo bar mixture. The pH of 4.5-5 is perfect for all hair types and will leave hair feeling beautifully cleansed.

INCI Ingredient Label: Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sodium Coco Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetyl Alcohol, Butylene Glycol, Stearic Acid, Shorea (Sal) Butter, Hydrolized Silk, Diheptyl Succinate, Capryloyl Glycerin/Sebacic Acid Copolymer, Fragrance, Propylene Glycol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate.

Recipe Directions

NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.
  1. To full-size crock pot, add 2" of water. Turn on high until water is almost to a boil. Or, can also use a large pan on stove top to heat water. 
  2. To a heat-resistance cup or pan add SCI Noodles and Bubble Up. Place cup into simmering water and heat until noodles have completely melted. Add more water, if needed. Mixture will become a white paste. 
  3. To a second heat-resistant cup, add stearic acid, emulsifying wax, sal butter, silk amino and LuxGlide. Place cup into simmering water and heat until wax has melted.
  4. Remove both from heat.
  5. Into mixing bowl, empty contents of first cup. Add contents of second cup and whisk as liquid is added. Continue to whip to help mixture cool.
  6. When mixture cools to 122°F, add fragrance oil and preservative and stir.
  7. Stir in SCS Noodles and mix in with spoon. Mixture will be lumpy.
  8. Press into all four cavities of soap mold. Place in refrigerator for 10-15 minutes.
  9. Remove and using a piece of parchment paper, push down mixture in each cavity to flatten and smooth. Chilling first will help so mixture is not too sticky.    
  10. Turn mold over and gently remove bars. If they will not come out, place in freezer for another 10 minutes and try again.
  11. Let bars set at least overnight to harden.
  12. Package as desired.
  13. Label accordingly.
TO USE:  Wet your hair, and wet the bar. Rub the bar on your hair until you have the bubbles and lather you wish. Wash your hair. Rinse and repeat, if desired
