Sodium Borate is the base ingredient in Borax and has an effectiveness often compared to OxiClean. It works by converting water molecules to hydrogen peroxide. It has a pH of 9.3 and produces a basic solution in water which increases the effectiveness of cleaners. Most commonly combined with washing soda to make handmade laundry soap formulations. BTMS-25 CA Behentrimonium Methosulfate Emulsifying Cationic Surfactant Conditioner is used for formulating hair conditioners, conditioning shampoos, and used in creams and lotions.BTMS 25 is both a mild primary emulsifier and an excellent conditioning agent, providing elegant cationic emulsions for both hair and skin care formulations.In hair conditioners BTMS CA gives users an improved wet comb and leaves hair with noticeable body and spring. Plus , it is perfect for using in leave-in conditioners. BTMS CA 25 leaves excellent detangling properties in hair conditioner products. When used in creams they resist wash off, leaving a nice after feel on skin.BTMS CA 25 can also emulsify many silicones (up to 50% in a formulation) and it is an excellent suspending agent.Our BTMS 25 is a solid blend of 25% behentrimonium methosulfate in cetearyl alcohol. The active compound is comprised of a positively charged quaternary ammonium salt coupled with a fatty carbon chain. The cationic part deposits towards negatively charged surfaces such as hair, while the long carbon chain imparts a smooth and conditioned after feel. The second component, cetearyl alcohol, is a nonionic surfactant used to support the development of the lamellar structure of the formulation. Its inverted conical shape helps with the packing parameter of the quaternary ammonium compound, improving the viscosity of the formula and the spreadability of the conditioner. Our Premium Shave & Shampoo Melt and Pour Soap Base has a creamy lather that is ideal for shave and shampoo needs. It is fortified with Pure Argan Oil, Silk Protein and Honey Protein, which are thought to pamper while helping with moisture and shine. Extracts include Calendula Flower, Aloe, Carrageenan and Sunflower. This base is naturally cloudy with no added pigments and is somewhat transparent. The ten-pound block makes (40) 4 oz. bars of soap and measures 12" x 11" x 2.25". This soap has a luxurious big bubble lather.
