Campfire CP Soap
Author: Wholesale Supplies Plus
Friday, August 31, 2018

This soap is made with the Taiwan Swirl technique. It involves using separators in the mold and then using a skewer to swirl them together. This recipe has a full water amount and 60% liquid oils to keep the soap fluid long enough to swirl it. The soap is scented with a fragrance that balances wood notes such as cedarwood and amber woods with sage and eucalyptus. It is a great unisex scent!

Recipe Directions

WARNING: This project and these instructions have been written for someone who has experience making soap and knows the potential dangers due to working with sodium hydroxide. It will not outline all safety methods of working with dangerous chemicals, it is simply a soap recipe for advanced soap makers.
  1. To pitcher, add water and then slowly add lye. Mix well. Set aside.
  2. To metal pot, add olive oil, babassu oil, kokum butter and castor oil. Heat on stovetop until liquid. Add splash of melted oils into each funnel pitcher.
  3. Add one color to each funnel pitcher; one funnel pitcher will have both the activated charcoal and matte black. Mix each well.
  4. Place dividers into loaf mold.
  5. When lye solution and oils are 90ºF, add lye solution to oils. Blend briefly to emulsify.
  6. Pour 10.50 oz. into each funnel pitcher. Divide out any remaining batter. Stick blend from lightest to darkest until colors are blended.
  7. Hold dividers down and pour yellow soap into first slot. Next, pour orange into second slot, red into third slot, and black into last slot. Carefully remove all dividers. Pour any remaining soap on top.
  8. Stick skewer into soap at corner of mold and drag it back and forth moving all the way down the mold. Once at the other side, drag skewer along the perimeter of mold four times.
  9. Spray top of soap with rubbing alcohol to prevent soda ash. Cover and wrap in towels to promote gel phase. (Optional)
  10. After at least 24 hours, remove soap from mold and slice into bars.
  11. Package as desired and label accordingly.
TO USE: Lather with water onto skin. Rinse off. Avoid contact with eyes.
