Directions:
WARNING: This project and these instructions have been written for someone who has experience making soap and knows the potential dangers due to working with sodium hydroxide. It will not outline safety methods of working with dangerous chemicals, it is simply a soap recipe for advanced soapmakers.
  1. Measure out the distilled water and set aside. Measure the Sodium Hydroxide and pour into the distilled water stirring well. Set aside to cool.
  2. In microwave-safe dish or a double boiler, melt the kokum butter, palm oil and coconut oil together just until melted. Then add the sunflower oil into the melted oils.
  3. Stir in the 2 oz. of Revitalizing Rosemary Mint Fragrance Oil.
  4. When your lye mixture has cooled down to around 100°F, pour into the oil mixture and hand stir for a minute. With stick blender, blend for 30 second bursts until you come to trace. You will want the bottom layer thicker so continue until you get a pudding texture.
  5. Pour half of the soap mixture into the loaf mold. Tap gently on the counter and set aside.
  6. Now take the metal tea strainer and place spiralina inside and lightly dust the soap in the mold (making sure you do not completely cover the soap because the two layers will not stay together when cut).
  7. Pour the remaining soap into the mold over the back side of a spatula, it will keep the soap from messing up the pencil line.
  8. Sprinkle the 1 Tbsp. of dried rosemary down the middle of the loaf.
  9. Tap the mold gently on the counter top and let sit for 24-48 hours.
  10. Unmold and slice the soap laying the loaf on its side. This keeps the line from smearing down your soap and from messing up the dried rosemary topping.
  11. Let soap cure for 4-6 weeks.
  12. A fun way to package these bars is to wrap them in brown paper tied with a bit of dried rosemary sprig.
To Use: Lather onto wet skin and rise with warm water. Avoid contact with eyes.
