If you are making product for a fundraiser or another similar event, it is likely that you will need to adapt your product line. Here are a few tips to keep in mind as you prepare for this event!

CHOOSE FRAGRANCES WITH NO VANILLA CONTENT
Using fragrances with vanilla means Vanilla Color Stabilizer which adds an extra step and cost. It also adds the risk of product turning color which in turn, leads to a dissatisfied customer. We think it’s best to avoid Vanilla for these reasons. Look for vanilla-y or sweet fragrances without any vanilla, they do exist!

USING READY MADE BASES
Ready-Made Bases make life so much easier. All you have to do is add fragrance and color then mix! Some bases, Like Crafter’s Choice Melt & Pour Colored Bases, even come pre-colored, just add fragrance! Don’t worry about the normal associations people may have about pre-made base products. Remember, these aren’t your typical customers. They likely don’t care what goes into the product, they just care that their money is going to a good cause.

CLAMSHELLS
Consider using clamshell molds for your Melt & Pour Soaps and Lotion Bars. The reason we recommend these is because as soon as you pour them, you just add a label and you’re done! Clamshells save an extra step because they are molds and packaging all in one!

SILICONE MOLDS
If clamshells aren’t your thing, use silicone molds are the way to go! We have found that silicone molds are quick and easy to unmold and they generally have larger batch options. You have a variety of options to choose from including silicone bar molds, loaf molds and tray molds! If you prefer bar molds, choose a mold with 12+ cavities such as the 15 Cavity Euro Rectangle Silicone Soap Mold 1613! Loaf and cavity molds are great too, again, just make sure you choose the molds that produce the most soap possible!

LIQUID COLORS
Liquid Colors are a great way to color big batch products. This is because they are easily dispersed and can produce a consistent color in a variety of products including soap, lotion, creams, shower gel and more,
