Freezing Milk: 

In this method replace the water in your recipe with milk. Pour your milk into an ice cube tray or small mold, and place in the freezer. (We prefer using Crafter's Choice Round Ball 1 1/4" Silicone Soap Mold.) Once frozen, add your lye to the frozen milk. Once the milk is liquid, allow the lye/milk mixture and your melted butters/oils to cool. (Soaping too hot will cause the soap to overheat.) Add the lye/milk to your melted oils/butters and stick blend. Pour into your mold of choice, and let sit uninsulated or in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours before unmolding. 

Goat Milk Soap: We used reconstituted goats milk, and complemented it with Crafters Choice™ Goat Milk & Honey Fragrance Oil 255. 

Water Discount:

In this method, discount the water in your recipe for the amount of milk you wish to incorporate. For example, if your recipe calls for five ounces of water and you want to add two ounces of milk then you would use three ounces of water and two ounces of milk. Add your lye to the water, and then after the lye/water and melted oils/butters have cooled, add the lye/water mixture to your oils/butters. Stick blend until a light trace is reached. Next, pour your milk into the soap and blend. Pour into a mold, and let sit uninsulated or in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours before unmolding.

Goat Milk Soap: We reconstituted goats milk, and complemented it with Crafters Choice™ Oatmeal, Milk & Honey Fragrance Oil 105.

Powdered Milk:

Powdered Milk is in our opinion, the easiest way to get the beneficial properties of milk into your soap. Simply add the milk power to your melted oils and butters and soap as usual at around 100ºF or cooler.  Pour your traced soap into a mold, and allow to sit uninsulated or in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours before unmolding.

Coconut Milk Soap: We added Coconut Milk Powder to our soap, and complemented it with Crafters Choice™ Coconut Milk Fragrance Oil 821.
