Directions:
NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.

1. Add soy wax, coco butter, coconut oil, shea butter and mango butter into a metal pot for melting. Using a double boiler, place on low heat until completely melted.
2. Once butters have completely melted, remove from heat. Stir.
3. Allow butters to cool to around 130-140*F. Add fragrance oil and stir.
4. Center wicks in each candle tin. Pour an equal amount of the mixture into each tin.
5. Let massage candles set up for at least 24 hours.
6. Trim wicks and package accordingly.

TO USE: Burn candle and use the melted butters as massage oil.

Crafted from luxurious butters and oils that melt gently into the skin, our soy massage candle recipe offers both a cozy light source and a nourishing body treatment, all in one! Its flame transforms the surrounding space into a skin-softening, spa-like atmosphere that’s perfect for massage or everyday moisturizing.

Unlike traditional candles, our massage oil candle recipe is made with ingredients designed specifically for skincare such as creamy soy wax, skin-loving butters, and lightweight carrier oils. Whether you’re gifting to someone special, or expanding your handmade product line, learn how to make massage oil candles that deliver on both indulgence and function.

  1. Light & Relax: Allow your candle to burn, just long enough to create a melted pool of warm oil.
  2. Extinguish Safely: Blow out the flame and let the oil cool slightly, making sure the oil is warm not hot.
  3. Pour & Massage: Carefully pour a small amount of oil onto your hands or directly onto the skin, then massage in to soothe muscles and moisturize.
This isn’t just candlelight, it’s a sensory experience. Designed to melt away tension and leave skin feeling soft and pampered, these body oil candles are a spa-inspired addition to any routine.

How do you make a massage candle?
A basic massage candle recipe blends cosmetic-grade soy wax, nourishing butters (like shea or cocoa), and a lightweight oil. Add a body-safe fragrance oil and pour into containers with wicks. Easy, safe, and luxurious.

What’s the difference between a regular candle and a massage candle?
While a regular candle uses wax meant only for ambiance, a massage candle melts into a skin-safe oil designed for use on the body. It offers both hydration and relaxation.

How do you use a massage candle safely?
Always test the melted oil on your wrist before use to ensure it’s a comfortable temperature. NEVER pour hot wax directly from a lit candle, and only use ingredients formulated for direct skin contact.

What is a lotion candle?
Also called a body oil candle or DIY massage candle, this is a candle designed to be used on the skin. The melted mixture feels like a warm, silky lotion and adds a touch of spa-like ambience to any massage or skincare ritual.
