International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI):
Glycol Distearate
Common Name Ingredient Listing (FDA Approved):
Glycol Distearate
Directions:
Usage rate: 1 - 2% in creams and lotions, 0.5 - 2.5% in shampoos and body washes to add pearlescence.
Heat batch to 70 - 75 °C (167 °F) until the glycol distearate is completely melted. Cool to room temperature with continuous agitation. If glycol distearate usage is at too high a level, excessive opacity will diminish the pearlescent effect. If incorporated at too low a level, solubilization by surfactants can result in either no pearlescence or delayed and excessively temperature-sensitive pearlescence (resulting in product that is, or becomes, hazy or murky).

"Works beautifully! " |
COMMENTS: Product worked great in soaps, Sydnet bars, and my facial gel cleanser! I did notice after evaporating a bit of the water out of my over diluted liquid soap, the GDS formed a sort of crust at the surface after cooling. I would keep use at 3% or below.
