Our "No-Stir" Palm Shortening is made from 100% Palm Oil. This oil has a reduced fatty acid content so that it is more stable and has a thick, luxurious texture. It can be easily scooped for measuring. When melted it returns to thick texture and does not separate. Ideal for handmade cosmetic formulations. Use in soap, lotion and whipped butter. Sustainability sourced with membership in RSPO.

Palm Shortening is derived from Palm Oil, which is the largest natural source of tocotrienol, part of the Vitamin E family. Popular in cold and hot process soap making because it produces a big, fluffy lather. All Natural.

COMMENTS: This is the only palm oil I use now! It's so nice to not have to heat up a bottle of oil laying on its side in the microwave before I can even pour it in with the other oils. The quality is top notch, it melts very easily and it's so much easier to scoop out! Love it. Always buy it in bulk when it's on sale!

COMMENTS: I like this product as it works well but it still separates somewhat and has a grainy texture. So the "no stir" still may have to be stirred. I would say that it performs well in my soaps and is priced reasonably.

"Ended Up Tempering Palm Oil" |

COMMENTS: I have used this in about 10 batches of cold process soap with varying results -- one being discoloration of my bars that has never happened before with the same recipe. I cannot say this is directly related to the palm oil -- as I'm fairly new to using this ingredient in my soaps. However, I bought an 8-pound supply, have stored in a cool location and have noticed the palm oil has discolored in the bucket. Some sections are creamy color and others look ashy white -- just like soda ash. Not sure if this is to be expected and/or if it has anything to do with how I'm storing the product. I haven't had a chance to read through all the reviews to see if anyone else has had this happen. I just decided to melt it all down to see if this will help.

COMMENTS: This Palm Oil is very easy to work with. I use a scoop to take out what I need, but I could easily use a gloved hand. It came in a plastic bag inside the delivery box, which is exactly how I left it before placing it on the bottom shelf of my rack. Melts fast with coconut oil and shea butter, and it is sustainable RSPO. I highly recommend this product.

COMMENTS: I do absolutely love the convenience of this Palm but it does tend to make my loaves softer...I do use only 36-45% hard oils in my 2 different recipes so I am very dependent on my hard oils doing their job. I will continue to use this Palm Oil in my recipes witch call for a larger % of hard oils...I do really like the ease of this Palm.

We have issues here in south tx with heat humidity & I am an ocd person & like everything stored in a sealed container to keep it fresh & free of contaminents. COMMENTS: I bought a 50-lb box of no-stir palm oil after reading reviews from others who use it to make cold process soap. I wasn't disappointed! I'm saving so much time and effort by using this easily scoopable palm oil rather than melting the entire bucket and pre-measuring several soap batches at once. I am a one-woman operation and I still make one loaf at a time, so this time savings is major for me. I can now use my time for designing and other business tasks. :-)

COMMENTS: I’ve only just started using palm oil. This arrived half melted (thanks Alabama heat). I stirred it all back up, then attempted to make soap with it. Ended up with stearic acid spots and had to rebatch. I made another small batch of soap a week later after the palm oil had thickened back up, soaped at a slightly warmer temp, and had no issues with stearic acid spots. I think this is a great product if you know what you’re doing with palm oil. I’m getting there.

COMMENTS: I was hesitant to use palm oil because of the environmental impact. However, I wanted to move to an animal free recipe and didn't want to use expensive butters in place of tallow. I took a chance on the no-stir palm because it was already hydrogenated and it's responsibly sourced and is RSPO approved. It's a great oil in my base recipe and I can feel good about the quality and ethics of my soap ingredients.

I do however love the creaminess and no stir factor. Very smooth and scent free. I now use this no stir palm oil with regular palm oil 60 (regular palm)/40 (no stir) and results are great.

COMMENTS: I'm a first time soap maker, so when I bought the 50lb option it was only after clicking the checkout button that I had realized how much 50lbs really was. It ended up working out in the end hiwever, as I couldn't be happier with my result! The palm oil came wrapped in a bag that was inside a box so it's easy to reseal and move if I need, and I just used a clean measuring cup to get what I needed for weighing. When I run out I'm definitely buying more because the soap came out really good as well. If you're serious about soap, I'd definitely go for the bigger bulk packages because it's so much cheaper in the long run. Happy Soaping!

COMMENTS: Comes in a giant, freaky cube wrapped in plastic. That's not necessarily a bad thing. You really can't beat the price.
I've been using lard. This made a good replacement at half the price.
I live in Vegas. It was 99 outside and the package sat for hours. It was fine. No separation at all.
Don't hesitate to buy.

COMMENTS: Wasn't sure about this product when I first purchased it, but after soaping with it, I'm in love! I used to have to melt down all my buckets of palm first, and then divvy up into smaller portions, then melt down once again when soaping, but with this I just scoop and melt. Especially love that it's sustainably sourced with the RSPO. Every batch has turned out perfectly, am planning on getting another 500 lb once back in stock.

COMMENTS: I received the 50 lb plastic lined box of Palm Shortening over the weekend and began using it immediately. It is very soft and has a granular texture. It worked well into the master batch I was making. Definitely cut down on time as opposed to using regular Palm Oil. As my master batch cooled to room temp, it did need to be stirred/blended and the oils reincorporated into themselves. I made 40 lbs of soap with it and haven't encountered an issue yet; even after "the cut". After using it for a while I'll update my rating. But, so far so good!
