Our Premium Shave & Shampoo Melt and Pour Soap Base has a creamy lather that is ideal for shave and shampoo needs. It is fortified with Pure Argan Oil, Silk Protein and Honey Protein, which are thought to pamper while helping with moisture and shine. Extracts include Calendula Flower, Aloe, Carrageenan and Sunflower. This base is naturally cloudy with no added pigments and is somewhat transparent. The two-pound tray is the perfect size container for projects making (8) 4 oz. bars of soap. The lid allows for unused soap to easily be stored for future use.

Directions:
MELT: Determine amount of melt and pour soap base needed for your project. Carefully slice soap base into small pieces and place in microwave safe container. Heat on low at 30 second intervals. Stir between intervals until liquid. Handle hot soap carefully as it may burn the skin. Soap can also be melted in a double boiler.
MOLD: Stir in cosmetic color, cosmetic scent, and skin safe additives. Pour into a Crafter's Choice mold. Spritz soap surface with rubbing alcohol to remove bubbles. Allow to cool until hard.
ENJOY: Remove from mold and wrap with airtight plastic wrap. Your newly created melt and pour soap is now ready to use!
CAUTION: Melted soap is hot! For ages 15 and older.

"Love this product, but some customers do not. " |

COMMENTS: I have some very mixed reviews from customers on this product. I have a few customers that absolutely LOVE it, and I have to keep it in stock for them, probably forever. haha but then I have other people that it literally made their hair feel like it had glue in it after being dried. I didn't belive it so I tried washing my mom's hair with it and YUP, felt disgusting. She is 100% grey, and so are the other customers that hated it. So, all in all... I don't think anyone that is majority grey should use this. Not all beauty products are meant for everybody. Because every body is different!!
This is the only shampoo my household uses now, we all love it so I will always keep it in stock! I wish there was a Melt and Pour conditioner bar! Also, the soap lathers so nicely! It is a huge draw for people who have to see the bubbles to think the soap is working. I like to mix this in with a shea butter or goats milk and add extra lather! Customer love it.

"This did not perform well as shampoo.." |

COMMENTS: I was hoping that this product would be a good replacement for my regular shampoo bars that I hand press. I saw the use of surfactants and all the other extracts and oils and thought that it would be great for hair. But it wasn’t, it was so drying and stripping. I couldn’t figure out why it would make my hair feel so horrible. Then I looked closer at the ingredients and realized that this was still indeed a soap. Lauric acid and sodium hydroxide = soap. I saw the Surfactants and thought that this product would have a hair friendly low ph. I was wrong. If you’re looking for a low ph “non soap” hair product, this isn’t it. Order a small amount first and test it out to see if it works. Don’t do what I did and order 25 pounds of it.

COMMENTS: I was curious about this base, and I´m super surprised! It was weird using a bar as shampoo, but it really worked! I couldn´t tell if it made my hair dry, because I am a bottle blonde lol, but it got all the styling crap out like a regular shampoo. My husband is using it as a beard shampoo, and he likes it as well!

COMMENTS: I love this base. Since I’ve started making my own shampoo bars, my hair is literally squeaky clean. It doesn’t get oily like it usually does and in this heat, that’s saying a lot. I was introduced to it when I picked up the peppermint and rosemary shampoo bar kit and I swear I’ll not use commercially made shampoo anymore. I even bought another tray to make sure when my family and friends have used theirs up I can whip up another batch quickly. You won’t be disappointed.

COMMENTS: I can't say enough about this product. I was a bit skeptical when I first purchased this, as there is a lot of controversy around shampoo bars. I decided to try it, and I was AMAZED! My hair literally squeaked it was so clean, but what really impressed me, was how soft and shinny it was. Totally removed all of the build up in my hair. Gave a small bar to my "trial group" and they want MORE! I'm using it once a week and it's been great! I also tried it in a shave bar! I've had nothing but outstanding reviews. You have to work it a minute to get a lather, but then it's an amazing shaving product. My step son has terrible trouble with his skin and this left it soft and not irritated at all. He took home 3 bars! Just great product! Can't wait to introduce it this fall craft season!

COMMENTS: Original purchased this base so I could add essential oils for my thinning hair. Plus it got rid of the plastic bottles polluting Mother Earth.
Have a man who deals with ingrown hairs on his scalp and face. He buys the expensive bottled shampoo with tea tree oil and has found this helps his issue. So I’ve made him up a batch of the MP for 6 bars. In separate cup I blended 1 tablespoon unrefined organic coconut oil (softened), 15 drops lavender and 45 drops tea tree essential oil (all great for ingrown hair and antibacterial. Than added mica for color and blended it into the already melted MP. Now he can save $$$, improve his health and help take care of Mother Earth.

COMMENTS: I have made about 4 men shave soap bars from this and the absolutely love this. It is not as creamy as tradition shaving cream but they love the scents they pick out and the feel of their face after they shave. I am going to start offering the shaving bar on my website with their choice of scent. I have also made a few shampoo bars with their choice of scents and men have loved it. I also added a touch of rosemary to combat flakes. It is half the price of dandruff shampoo and works just as well.

COMMENTS: I was buying expensive Shampoo Bars online and after a while I just couldn't justify how much we were spending for bars we didn't absolutely love. Considering I was spending $20 for one shampoo bar alone I figured what could I lose trying a DIY version. Long story short these are pretty amazing! I can make everyone in the house their desired scent, we're saving money and the shower isn't cluttered with a million bottles! COMMENTS: This is really yummy soap and it sold quickly. The lather is very silky and can be a body bar as well.
I had actually purchased a bar from a competitor a while back and really liked it so made a note to self to source it for my clients. I made 1/2 batch with Meyer Lemon FO & Banana Boat yellow mica and the other 1/2 with Black Tie FO w/Black Knight mica powder. Excellent! Will reorder next order in a larger quantity.

COMMENTS: I bought the shaving and shampoo soap base to make the recipe for Clay and Basil MP Shave Soap. My son has sensitive skin and was trying to find something that would work for him. The product is fantastic. Great lather. Great feel on the skin. I have also used it for myself. Highly recommend it, especially in the Clay and Basil shave soap recipe.

COMMENTS: I make shampoo bars for my husband to use. I have made them in cold process before too, but LOVE to buy the one you can just melt and pour to make them with. He said they honestly felt like they worked the same. I added a little charcoal to it and used tea tree oil in it too.

COMMENTS: goodness - what a great soap! loads of bubbles, smooth, silky, no odors, so easy to use and the customers love this. It has so much humectant in it that I Must keep it shrink wrapped - really great product.
Clear - so embeds can be seen. Easily colored, fragrance added, other ingredients added. Hair has been comparably softer, shinier, more manageable since trying this soap. Highly recommend this product.

He loved the soap, the smell camouflaged the cigarette smell and his wife loved the fact that the entire floor of house where the bathroom is smelled like lemons. So I will re-up on this one. COMMENTS: I am still waiting on my own customer feedback on this base. I use it myself as a shampoo, face wash, and shave soap and I really like it. It makes my hair squeaky clean, which I love! I wouldn't mind a little more lather, but I add sweet almond and avocado oils to mine personal bars, which probably reduces the lather.

COMMENTS: I order a lot from this site, but I have never purchased the shave soap as I had ordered quite a bit from a local vendor here in AZ and was getting close to running out. I decided to try this one (price was cheaper as well). I just received a large order and dug out the new soap and just the feel of it, was so nice. I cut a sliver off and asked my BF (who wet shaves)to wet it up and let me know what he thought. he said it lathered very well on his face (just using his hands) and said his face very moisturized. He hasn't shaved with it yet, but I am confident it will be a great shave. I recommend!

COMMENTS: Guys will generally use whatever is in the shower, which is how I tested this. I had my mates simply say this was the one bar that did it all, shampoo, shave and shower. Within days I was getting reports about the soap,mostly how it was fabulous on skin and hair, especially men who have beards and don't shave, as it left their facial hair soft and (when mixed with Dirt FO) fragrant. Am buying more as I'm expanding by creating a men's line which I'll push for Father's Day.

COMMENTS: A really nice head-to-toe bar, gentle enough for hair and great for the skin. It made my hair feel a little "squeaky" in the shower (like most solid shampoos), but after conditioning normally and drying, my hair's as soft and shiny as if I'd used a salon shampoo, plus it has a lot more body.
I have a friend experiencing some stress-related hair loss, so I've added clove oil to stimulate the scalp, plus some ground mulling spices and we love it!

COMMENTS: I bought this to make shave and shampoo bars as part of gift baskets for the men of the family. Since several(most) of them have some form of facial hair, I added 1 ounce of rice bran oil to the two pound base and mixed it well. After I scented it with the Mahogany Teakwood fragrance oil and poured it up, I let it sit for 3 days and then wrapped them for giving. The reports that I received is that they all love their conditioning soap for their faces and want to know if I can make more. It has been a big hit for the hairy part of my family since they all usually use large amounts of hair conditioner of some sort to keep the facial hair in soft and good condition. I will definitely be buying more of this in the future when it is time to replace their present shampoo bars. Their wives and girlfriends said Thank You because it keeps their beards soft and they got their bottles of conditioner back!

COMMENTS: I purchased only 2 lbs of this soap to try. I am using it as my twice daily facial cleaner that is unscented & leaves my skin felling very smooth & soft.
Not too much lather & not too less of lather with this soap. Also, not too thick of lather either like I have experienced with other soaps such as the Crafter's Choice Baby Buttermilk Soap Base which has way too much lather & is too thick of lather for a good thorough cleanse. I will be back for more of this great Crafter's Choice (Premium Shave & Shampoo MP Soap Base) I like it alot.

COMMENTS: I purchased this to make shaving soap for my husband, but thought I'd try and make a single bar and try as shampoo. OMG! I cannot believe what this has done for me! Both my husband and I have super fine, oily, fly away hair. I have beyond shoulder length hair and my husband keeps his hair short. We have both been using this bar of shampoo and it has dramatically changed our hair. Neither of us has quite as oily of hair, but in addition, it has given my hair texture. Every day I would curl my hair, and within an hour or two it would be gone, now it holds the curl until I wash it the following morning. I can't believe it. I still have to use a conditioner, but that's to be expected. It's such a great product I will be making lots more for testers!
