Texture variation in soap. Kelp contains over 60 minerals and elements, 21 amino acids, simple and complex carbohydrates. It adds texture variation in soap and works as a natural yellow-green colorant. Kelp Powder is commonly used in cold process soap recipes!

DIRECTIONS: Incorporate into formula, amount as desired. Common use levels are 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon per pound of base. Test your final product to insure optimal performance and no staining. Not recommended for leave on products.
STORAGE: Store in an airtight, cool, dark location. When stored properly, best used within 1 year from date of purchase. Keep out of reach from children and pets.
CAUTION: For external use only. Keep out of reach of children and away from eyes. Do not inhale.

"Definitely not to my taste" |

COMMENTS: I used 1/4 tsp. in a melt and pour batch. I opened the package of Kelp Powder and took a sniff. It smelled similar to alfalfa or other green type things. As soon as I mixed it in the M&P it smelled like fish. The FO was not strong enough to cover it up at all. Luckily most of it sank to the bottom of the loaf and once the loaf was ready to be cut I was able to trim the Kelp off of the bars. There is still a tiny bit of kelp powder in the bars, but the FO is able to cover the smell. I 1/4 tsp in 50 0z of M & P base with 2 oz of FO. If you are going to use the kelp powder use a very small amount and use a very powerful FO.
I had no experience with kelp and went off of reviews and by the smell of it in the package.

COMMENTS: Very good quality. Added to oils before adding lye solution in CP soap. The color was light at first and then came through strong during cure. Smells like seaweed at first and then it fades so that was nice.

COMMENTS: I mixed this with a blend of oils and sheat butter to make a lovely facial. I added a very small amount of tea tree oil. The final scent was lovely, not overly fishy at all. This powder is quite fine and mixed up well. I ended up with a smooth, thin paste when I was done. I'm excited to see what else I can add it too. I will happily buy this again when I run out.

COMMENTS: This is perfect for super-sensitive skin. My daughter has tried various clays and she always finds herself washing it off before the recommended time. She can use this with no problems, it nourishes, cleans and leaves the skin feeling soft and fresh. She's pregnant right now, so she can not use this, but she really looks forward to using it again.

COMMENTS: I like the benefits of Kelp Powder but, I hate the scent of it. I try to mask it with Lemongrass essential oil or Tea Tree Oil but, it a very strong ocean smell, more like the scent of the things that wash up on the shore. Its a great product but, I wish they could do something about the scent.

COMMENTS: I added kelp to my cold process batch with Lemongrass essential oil. The powder didn't discolor the soap - I used ¼ teaspoon, and allowed the CP bar to keep its natural color. This is a great additive for a CP bar with a strong essential oil (such as Lemongrass) to overpower any potential smell from the kelp.

COMMENTS: Used in the hemp detergent free/low sweat base. I would add it a bit at a time as adding a teaspoonful just made a big clump. The smell is really kind of gross and fishy, but I used so little it went away and I used the sea kelp and agave fragrance oil which covers the fishy smell well.

COMMENTS: I bought this to use in MP soap. I started a spa line, & wanted to try the kelp as it has so many vitamins & minerals. I was hesitant after reading some of the reviews, but I have to say the soap turned out just as I planned. Coconut milk MP soap with sea kelp made a great spa bar & the scent covered any of the kelp scent.
